We build homes. Beautiful, spacious, easy-to-run homes, designed on Scandinavian principles. Homes for people who know how to look after themselves and the environment.
Skanska has been building in the UK for many years. Big projects like 30 St Mary Axe (aka The Gherkin), parts of the M25, hospitals and schools, as well as hundreds of smaller, community-level projects. Contributing to the fabric of our society. And we've been building homes in Scandinavia for decades.
So it makes sense that we bring this experience together for British homebuyers. Our research shows us there are significant numbers of people who would like the kind of home we can offer. A home that combines a contemporary aesthetic with long-lasting, sustainable design. One with added functionality to take some of the work out of everyday life. And we’re working with award-winning architects to create homes that are relevant and unique to each location.
We think about the young and the old, indoors and outdoors, space and materials, light and shade, waking and sleeping, warmth and cool, the family, the community and the individual. We consider every detail for its practicality, durability and beauty.
We will concentrate our efforts on sites where everything – location, transport links, local amenities, schools, the whole package – is right, and where we can build the kind of homes and communities people will love living in.
It’s not just homes we’re changing, but homebuying, too. We try to make the purchasing process a pleasure, from start to finish. So we design it like our homes: simple, transparent and free of fuss.
Our first developments, with a mix of houses and apartments, are in Cambridge. We’re looking at other sites in the Eastern region, too, as well as locations in London and the South West.
